Oven Repair — Book a Visit Today
We repair electric and gas ovens, ranges, and wall ovens, and if yours quit with dinner in it, call us and tell us what it's doing. Most oven failures come down to a short list of parts: a cracked bake element, a burned-through igniter on a gas unit, a temperature sensor reading fifty degrees off, a door hinge letting heat leak out, or a control board cooked by a power blip on an old farmhouse circuit. A visit starts with questions, then a meter. We check the element, the sensor resistance, the igniter draw, and the wiring behind the back panel where mice and heat both do damage. You'll know what failed and what it takes to fix it before we touch anything.

The oven symptoms we hear most
- "It heats, but everything comes out burnt on the bottom" Temperature sensor drift, or a bake element shorting in one spot
- "Broiler works, bake does nothing" Failed bake element, an open element circuit, or a relay stuck on the control board
- "I hear clicking and smell gas, then it lights hard" Weak igniter that no longer pulls enough current to open the gas valve
- "Display flashes a code and locks me out" Control board fault, door latch switch, or a heat-damaged wiring connection at the back
- "Kitchen gets hotter than the oven does" Flattened door gasket, hinge sag, or a glass panel seal letting heat escape
Safe things to check first
Worth a look before you call — sometimes it saves you the visit.
- 1Make sure the oven isn't sitting in Sabbath mode, delay start, or a leftover self-clean lock.
- 2Take a flashlight to the bake element and look for a blister, a split, or a bright scorch mark.
- 3Open the door and press the gasket with your finger, feeling for flat, hard, or missing spots.
- 4On an electric range, check the panel for a half-tripped double breaker. That kills bake but leaves the clock lit.

Homeowners on how the visit went
“You talk to a human when you call. That alone puts them ahead of everyone else I tried.”
Steve J.Cincinnati, OH“Two visits, one for diagnosis, one with the ordered part. Both on time, both explained clearly.”
Hannah B.Toledo, OH“My tenants dealt with them directly and the whole repair happened without me leaving work.”
Victor A.Richmond, VAOven Repair — quick answers
Why is my oven off by fifty degrees?
Usually the temperature sensor. It's a thin probe inside the cavity that reads resistance, and as it ages the reading drifts, so the control board heats to the wrong target. We measure it cold, compare it to spec, and replace it if it's out of range.
My oven locked itself during self-clean. Now what?
Self-clean runs the cavity extremely hot, and the door latch stays engaged until it cools back down. If it's still locked after several hours, the latch motor or a thermal fuse probably gave out. That fuse is a common self-clean casualty. Call us and we'll look.
Is a gas oven that smells like gas at startup dangerous?
A brief whiff while the igniter warms is normal. A smell that lingers, or a loud thump when it lights, is not. Shut the oven off, get some air moving in the kitchen, and leave it alone. If you smell gas with the oven off, call your gas utility first.
Can you fix a wall oven, or only ranges?
Both. A wall oven has to come out of the cabinet before we can reach the back panel, so we allow extra time and protect your cabinet faces. Double wall ovens often share one control board, which is why the top can fail when the bottom acts up.
How long does an oven repair take?
Many element, igniter, and sensor jobs finish in one visit if the part is on the truck. Control boards and door glass sometimes have to be ordered, especially on older or import models. We tell you which situation you're in before we leave.
Should I repair an oven that is fifteen years old?
Often yes. Older ovens have simpler parts and heavy insulation. If the cavity is solid and the wiring is clean, an element or sensor swap gets you years more. And we'll say plainly when a repair doesn't make sense for the shape it's in.
How it works
- Step 1
Tell us the symptom
Call us or fill out the form and describe the noise, the smell, or the puddle. Brand and model help a lot. We ask a few questions so the van carries the right parts before we ever pull in.
- Step 2
We come find you
Gravel drive, creek crossing, farm lane off a county route, give us a landmark and we'll get there. We text before we head out, so nobody sits by the window all day waiting.
- Step 3
Diagnose, then repair
We open the machine, test the part, and show you what failed. You hear the plan before any work starts. Common parts ride with us, so many jobs finish on the same visit.

Why homeowners call us
- Coal-country water eats machinesHard water and iron leave scale on heaters, valves, and pumps. Dishwashers film over and washers clog. We see it every week, and we clean or replace the parts that mineral buildup actually ruins.
- Old farmhouse wiring, respectedPlenty of homes here run on two-prong outlets and panels older than the appliance. Low voltage and shared circuits cause faults that people blame on the machine. We check the power before condemning a board.
- Mike's name on the truckThis is a small workshop, not a call center. The person who answers the phone knows the tech who shows up. If something isn't right after we leave, call us and you reach us directly.
- Independent on every brandWe work on refrigerators, ranges, washers, dryers, dishwashers, and freezers from all major makers. No brand tells us what to recommend. Sometimes the honest answer is that a repair isn't worth doing.
- All major brands, gas & electricWhirlpool, Samsung, LG, GE, Maytag, Bosch, KitchenAid and more, as an independent repair company.
- Straight answersWhen a repair doesn't make sense, we tell you, sometimes before we even roll a truck.
