Dryer Repair — Book a Visit Today
We repair gas and electric dryers, and most of what we find is one of a few things: a burned-out heating element, a thermal fuse tripped by lint-choked venting, worn drum rollers and idler pulleys, a snapped belt, a bad door switch, or a control board that scrambled during a storm flicker. Out here, long vent runs through crawlspaces and unfinished basements cause more failures than any single part does. A visit starts with the vent and the airflow, then power, then the guts of the machine. We open it up, show you what we see, and explain the fix in plain words before we touch a screw. Older or newer, call us and tell us what the dryer is doing.

The dryer symptoms we hear most
- It runs but the clothes come out damp Heat loss: element, gas igniter, or a blocked vent line
- Screeching every time the drum turns Worn rollers, a dry idler pulley, or a failing rear bearing
- Dead as a stone when I press start Door switch, thermal fuse, start switch, or a lost leg of power
- Drum spins free and nothing tumbles Broken drive belt or a seized motor pulley
- Shuts off after ten minutes every load Overheating from restricted airflow tripping a limit thermostat
Safe things to check first
Worth a look before you call — sometimes it saves you the visit.
- 1Pull the lint screen and hold it up to the light. If water beads on it instead of passing through, wash off the fabric softener film.
- 2Step outside and feel the vent hood while the dryer runs; weak or no air means the duct is packed.
- 3Check that the door latches firmly, since a loose strike plate keeps the switch from closing.
- 4Reset the breaker for the dryer circuit once, because electric models lose heat when only one leg drops out.

Homeowners on how the visit went
“Honest about what they could not fix, which made me believe everything else they said.”
Marcus L.Cincinnati, OH“Washer would not drain with a load of soaked towels inside. They moved the visit up when I explained.”
Judy P.Toledo, OH“The tech showed me the worn belt before replacing it. No mystery charges, no jargon.”
Frank O.Richmond, VADryer Repair — quick answers
Why does my electric dryer tumble but never heat?
Usually the machine still has 120 volts but lost the second leg, or the heating element or thermal fuse is open. Restricted venting is the common root cause. We test the circuit and the components instead of guessing at parts.
Is a noisy dryer worth fixing?
Often yes. Rollers, belts, idler pulleys, and glides are wear items made to be replaced. If the drum bearing has chewed into the rear bulkhead, we say so plainly and let you decide whether repair still makes sense.
How often should the vent be cleaned?
Once a year for a short run. More often if the duct is long, ribbed, or snakes through a crawlspace. Lint buildup is the usual reason heating parts fail twice. We clear what we can reach during the repair.
Do you work on gas dryers?
Yes. Gas models have their own failure list: igniters, flame sensors, gas valve coils, radiant sensors. We check gas supply and combustion airflow too. If we find anything unsafe with the line, we stop and tell you straight.
Can a power flicker damage the control board?
It can. Older farmhouse wiring and rural service drops see plenty of surges and brownouts. You get scrambled displays, cycles that never advance, or a dryer that ignores buttons. We test the board before we recommend replacing it.
What should I have ready when I call?
The brand, whether it is gas or electric, and what you hear or smell when it runs. A photo of the model tag helps us bring likely parts. Call us and we will sort out the details with you.
How it works
- Step 1
Tell us the symptom
Call us or fill out the form and describe the noise, the smell, or the puddle. Brand and model help a lot. We ask a few questions so the van carries the right parts before we ever pull in.
- Step 2
We come find you
Gravel drive, creek crossing, farm lane off a county route, give us a landmark and we'll get there. We text before we head out, so nobody sits by the window all day waiting.
- Step 3
Diagnose, then repair
We open the machine, test the part, and show you what failed. You hear the plan before any work starts. Common parts ride with us, so many jobs finish on the same visit.

Why homeowners call us
- Coal-country water eats machinesHard water and iron leave scale on heaters, valves, and pumps. Dishwashers film over and washers clog. We see it every week, and we clean or replace the parts that mineral buildup actually ruins.
- Old farmhouse wiring, respectedPlenty of homes here run on two-prong outlets and panels older than the appliance. Low voltage and shared circuits cause faults that people blame on the machine. We check the power before condemning a board.
- Mike's name on the truckThis is a small workshop, not a call center. The person who answers the phone knows the tech who shows up. If something isn't right after we leave, call us and you reach us directly.
- Independent on every brandWe work on refrigerators, ranges, washers, dryers, dishwashers, and freezers from all major makers. No brand tells us what to recommend. Sometimes the honest answer is that a repair isn't worth doing.
- All major brands, gas & electricWhirlpool, Samsung, LG, GE, Maytag, Bosch, KitchenAid and more, as an independent repair company.
- Straight answersWhen a repair doesn't make sense, we tell you, sometimes before we even roll a truck.
