Washer Repair — Book a Visit Today

We repair washers across the six states we cover, and most calls come down to a handful of parts. Worn drain pumps clogged with lint and coins, cracked door boot seals, tired lid switches, drive belts, and control boards that took a hit during a storm. Hard water here leaves scale on valves and heaters, and that shows up as slow fills. On a visit we run the machine, listen through the cycle, meter the parts that matter, and tell you plainly what it needs. Bring us the model number if you can find it. Call us and describe what you heard, even if there's still a tub of gray water sitting in there.

Washer Repair — residential washer being serviced

The washer symptoms we hear most

  • "It won't drain, the water just sits there" Drain pump jammed or failed, clogged hose, or a blocked filter.
  • "It bangs so hard the floor shakes" Worn suspension rods, bad shocks, or an unbalanced tub bearing.
  • "Front of the machine is wet after every wash" Torn door boot seal, loose hose clamp, or a cracked dispenser housing.
  • "Fills forever and never really gets going" Scaled or failing water inlet valves, screened filters, or low supply pressure.
  • "Lid's down but it won't spin" Lid lock or switch fault, broken drive belt, or a motor control problem.

Safe things to check first

Worth a look before you call — sometimes it saves you the visit.

  • 1Unplug the washer, wait a minute, then plug it back in. Some control boards will clear a stuck cycle that way.
  • 2Check that both the hot and cold shutoff valves behind the machine are open all the way.
  • 3Look at the drain hose for a kink, or a shove against the wall from the last time somebody moved the machine.
  • 4Rock the machine corner to corner and see if a leveling foot has backed out on an uneven floor.

Washer Repair — quick answers

Do I need to empty the water before you come?

No. Leave it. Watching how the machine handles a full tub tells us whether the pump is dead, partly blocked, or being shut down by a sensor. If the water is spilling over, shut the lid and unplug the unit.

Can a front-loader smell be fixed, or is the washer done?

Usually fixable. The odor comes from residue in the door boot folds, in the dispenser, and down in the drain trap. We clean the boot or replace it if it's torn, and we check that the drain isn't holding standing water between loads.

My washer walks across the laundry room. Is that serious?

It can be. Sometimes it's only leveling feet on an old sloped floor. Other times the suspension has worn out and the tub is swinging into the cabinet, which eventually ruins the bearing. Worth looking at soon.

Is it worth repairing an older top-loader?

Often yes. Older top-loaders use simple mechanical parts that are still available. We look at the transmission and the tub bearing first, since those drive the decision, then tell you honestly what we'd do.

Do you work on stacked laundry units?

Yes. Stacked and closet-installed sets have to be unstacked or pulled out to reach the pump and the rear panel, so we plan for room and somewhere to set the dryer while we work.

How do I stop clogs from coming back?

Empty pockets, and check the pump filter on a front-loader every couple of months. Coins, hairpins, and bra wires do most of the damage. Before we leave, we'll show you where the filter access door is.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Tell us the symptom

Call us or fill out the form and describe the noise, the smell, or the puddle. Brand and model help a lot. We ask a few questions so the van carries the right parts before we ever pull in.

  2. Step 2

    We come find you

Gravel drive, creek crossing, farm lane off a county route, give us a landmark and we'll get there. We text before we head out, so nobody sits by the window all day waiting.

  3. Step 3

    Diagnose, then repair

We open the machine, test the part, and show you what failed. You hear the plan before any work starts. Common parts ride with us, so many jobs finish on the same visit.

Why homeowners call us

  • Coal-country water eats machinesHard water and iron leave scale on heaters, valves, and pumps. Dishwashers film over and washers clog. We see it every week, and we clean or replace the parts that mineral buildup actually ruins.
  • Old farmhouse wiring, respectedPlenty of homes here run on two-prong outlets and panels older than the appliance. Low voltage and shared circuits cause faults that people blame on the machine. We check the power before condemning a board.
  • Mike's name on the truckThis is a small workshop, not a call center. The person who answers the phone knows the tech who shows up. If something isn't right after we leave, call us and you reach us directly.
  • Independent on every brandWe work on refrigerators, ranges, washers, dryers, dishwashers, and freezers from all major makers. No brand tells us what to recommend. Sometimes the honest answer is that a repair isn't worth doing.
  • All major brands, gas & electricWhirlpool, Samsung, LG, GE, Maytag, Bosch, KitchenAid and more, as an independent repair company.
  • Straight answersWhen a repair doesn't make sense, we tell you, sometimes before we even roll a truck.
